- Round Rock ISD board members and those running in this year's elections are in a tense state, and have been for some time. There have been alleged severe threats, obscene items mailed to employees of the district and city (under investigation), and recorded unprofessional arguments that went on until 2 a.m. at meetings. The Austin Chronicle has more details on the election battles and concerns over harassment.
- "Williamson County Elections has confirmed its office has received a few complaints" regarding voter intimidation. Sam Manning, a voter and volunteer, passes out sample ballots at a Round Rock Randalls and encourages citizens to exercise their right to vote. “I refuse to be intimidated, and I’m not going to be intimidated!” he said. “I don’t care who’s at the polls, or what they wear, or what they say, I have a right to vote, and that’s part of our democracy – free and fair elections.” (KEYE TV CBS Austin)
- Round Rock has a mother-daughter duo who work together as RNs at St. David’s Medical Center. Carmela Aberilla became an RN out of inspiration from her mother, Mary Aberilla. The two share a passion and dedication to serving patients from a place of care and love, which makes them look forward to working together on the same hospital floor, everyday. And November 1-7 is National Medical-Surgical Nurses Week! (KEYE TV CBS Austin)
