Here are the top three stories in Round Rock today:
- The City of Round Rock announced that as of yesterday, East Bagdad Avenue will be closed from the dead-end at South Mays Street to South Sheppard Street for the "street improvements project." Construction is expected to be completed in November 2022. The Lampasas and Bagdad intersection will remain open to traffic. (City of Round Rock)
- At yesterday's meeting, Round Rock ISD staff presented the proposed 2022-23 budget to the trustees. The projected recapture payment is just over $72.5 million. The board will also consider raising pay for teachers and librarians in years one to seven by five percent and increasing starting salaries to $53,000. In April, the board approved a four percent raise and a starting salary of $52,600 for these same positions. (Community Impact Newspaper)
- A Round Rock couple is using their TxTag toll road tag to track their black Honda Civic that was stolen, along with their dog Noodle, on Apr. 6, 2022. So far, the stolen car was driven through tolls in Cedar Park, Pflugerville, and most recently San Antonio on May 1, 2022. Unfortunately, there is a two-day delay in the system. Stella Mills and her husband are in contact with the police and have notified TxTag. (FOX 7 Austin)
