  1. Round Rock residents can buy emergency preparation supplies tax free during the Emergency Preparation Supplies Sales Tax Holiday from Apr. 23 to Apr. 25. Emergency supplies can help during events such as tornadoes, fires, or freezing temperatures. There is no limit on the number of qualifying items a person can purchase.   2. Round Rock Public Library announced the six finalists in its Biz.ability Business Plan Competition. The competition is designed for Round Rock-based startup entrepreneurs and has program partnerships with the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce and Dell Technologies. On May 3, finalists will present their plans to a panel of judges, including Round Rock’s Assistant City Manager, Brooks Bennett, and other leaders in the Round Rock business community. The prize package is worth more than $13,500; the grand prize winner will receive $7,500, a $2,500 Dell computer system, and a consultation with a Dell Technology expert. (City of Round Rock)
