Family Campout & Outdoor Expo 2020 Offers Camping Under The Stars

ROUND ROCK, TX — Families are invited to the City of Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department annual Family Campout at Old Settlers Park for a night of camping and fun under the Texas night sky. The Family Campout & Outdoor Expo 2020 offers family activities and educational programs and an opportunity to experience the best of Texas family camping alongside friends and neighbors, while still following safety protocols and guidelines.

The popular family event will be held Friday, September 18 through Saturday, September 19 and will let campers pop their tents around the Lakeview Pavilion, offer dinner, fun games and activities, including campfire s'mores and a movie, all followed by a quiet and relaxing evening sleeping under the stars. The following morning, families will wake up at sunrise and enjoy breakfast and take part in any of the events celebrating National Hunting and Fishing Day.

Registration for the campout is required, and each registered participant will receive two meals including dinner and s'mores on Friday evening and a pancake and sausage breakfast on Saturday morning. Vegetarian option is available if requested by September 14. T-shirts are also available for registered participants. ***Please note Family Campout Safety Protocols (as of July 30). Social distancing and masks are encouraged during event. Tent spots will be spaced in 20 feet boxes to ensure plenty of distance from neighboring tents. Dinner, breakfast and s’mores supplies will be prepackaged, and all participants will be asked to eat in their tent area. Additional hand-washing stations and hand sanitizer will be easily accessible throughout the event area. Activities and vendors will be safely spaced out to ensure social distancing with a maximum number of participants at a time.

**Additional guidelines may be implemented to ensure a safe experience for all participants depending on city, state and CDC recommendations and guidelines at the time of the event.
