Former Round Rock Teacher Facing Child Indecency Charges

Lawrence Doyle taught at Teravista Elementary, but the district said the alleged 2015 incidents did not involve Teravista students.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD) informed parents this week that a former Teravista Elementary School teacher has been arrested and charged with indecency with a child and sexual contact, according to KXAN.

Lawrence Doyle taught fourth and fifth grade at the school for four years until June 1 of this year. In a letter to parents on Wednesday, district officials said Doyle was not arrested for an incident on campus and the victims are not Teravista students, according to KXAN. The district also has reported the arrest to the State Board for Educator Certification.

The Austin American-Statesman reported that, according to an arrest affidavit from the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, the victim was interviewed on July 1, and told police that the incidents with Doyle happened in 2015.
