Get Ready for These Spooky Halloween Events in Round Rock

Halloween is right around the corner.

It’s that time of the year again. Time to decide on a costume, get a pumpkin and enjoy the cooler weather.

Here are a few Halloween events in Round Rock this year.

The Round Rock Parks and Recreation Fall Fun Festival 2015 will take place from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Old Settlers Park. This year’s theme is Monsters and Mayhem. There will be carnival games, hay rides, cookies and punch, storytime and more.

Starting on Oct. 2 the front lawn of the Saint Richard’s Episcopal Church will be covered with pumpkins. There will be storytime on some weekdays and a photo area to take family pictures. Last year, the church raised more than $23,000 for several charities, including the Round Rock Serving Center, Young Life Round Rock, New Beginnings Mentoring Ministry and Honduras Good Works. The church donates excess pumpkins ther local non-profit organizations such as the Round Rock Arts Alliance and the Miracle Star Alliance.

IKEA in Round Rock is offering a free pumpkin decorating workshop on Oct. 12 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. And on Oct. 26, the store will have a Halloween costume contest and a scavenger hunt.
