- Yesterday, Jun. 27, the Texas Public Interest Research Group, Environment Texas, and ReThink 35 filed a lawsuit against the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) over I-35 improvement projects. The lawsuit alleges that by splitting up the Interstate 35 Capital Express Projects into three sections (north, central, and south) instead of one larger project, TxDOT is violating the law and avoiding a "more rigorous environmental review and public engagement of a single larger project." The I-35 Capital Express Projects consist of a 30 mile stretch along I-35 from State Highway 45 North in Round Rock down south to State Highway 45 Southeast near Buda. (KXAN)
- Yesterday, Jun. 27, Twin Peaks reopened its Round Rock location after completing the tornado-related repairs. The sports lodge is located at 100 Louis Henna Boulevard in Round Rock. (Community Impact Newspaper)
- Sharetea, a Taiwan-based retailer of boba teas, will occupy the former retail space of Front Porch Frozen Desserts at Round Rock Crossing. Sharetea plans to open the new location, 3107 S. I-35, Suite 770 in Round Rock, in the fall. (Community Impact Newspaper)
- The Rangers plan to bring back Taylor Hearn, who is currently with Triple-A Round Rock. Texas manager Chris Woodward said, "When we bring him back, and he'll be back, the biggest thing is to put him in a multi-inning reliever role. We just want to see the power and velocity come back."
