- A grand event for the community: Round Rock Public Library welcomes the public to join in on the Grand Opening event on Jan. 28 from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Rain or shine, this event will begin outdoors and then move in with offerings of family-friendly activities, learning about the new facilities, and more. “This is truly a library for the community, intended to serve people from all walks of life. This building, and the programming that will happen in it, will help shape the future of Round Rock.” said Round Rock Mayor Craig Morgan. (City of Round Rock)
- Round Rock ISD Trustees have a couple of important decisions to discuss such as: Possibility of changing 2024 Spring Break dates to March 18-23 to align with the dates of Austin colleges and the district's legal fees and representation. Remote public comments are no longer able to present virtually, instead, citizens can call and leave a recording where only the first message will be listened to if there are multiple recordings from the same person. - Raymond Salazar Jr. pleaded guilty to a murder that occurred in Round Rock, and has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for the deadly stabbing of 17-year-old Adam Hilzer. After being listed as a person of interest in October 2020 for the crime, "The U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Violent Offender and Fugitive Task Force and other law enforcement agencies announced they arrested Salazar in June 2021 in southeast Houston" for his connection in the stabbing.
