Here are the top three stories in Round Rock today:

  1. On Jun. 22, Round Rock Police arrested 48-year-old Mariana Salgado after she called police to report a burglary. According to police, the man she accused of burglary was a Honduran national trying to escape her home. He had been forced to live at her home while he paid off a $9,200 debt to Salgado, which was what she charged for his travel from Mexico to Texas. Salgado is being charged with a third-degree felony of smuggling of persons and is currently in Williamson County Jail. (KXAN)
  2. On Jun. 29, the City of Round Rock announced that it has entered Stage 1 Mandatory Drought Restrictions due to the prolonged period of hot and dry conditions. Stage 1 enforces a maximum of two outdoor watering days per week and residents must follow the City’s designated outdoor watering schedule. View the link for the schedule. (City of Round Rock)
  3. Besos Cocina & Cantina, located at 3107 S. I-35 Round Rock, is now open. On Jul. 8 there will be a grand opening for the Mexican-inspired restaurant. (Community Impact Newspaper)
