- Round Rock is accepting nominations for the 2023 Local Legends, until May 31. "The Local Legend program recognizes individuals or members of families whose contributions to the city were preferably at least 30 years ago." It also recognizes businesses, organizations, institutions and publications. To learn more about this program, visit City of Round Rock.
- Do you know the proper name for residents of Round Rock? KXAN shows that "the demonym for Round Rock has a way of making some people feel empowered. Many residents were proud to be Round Rockers." While that can ring nicely, a viewer suggested, "Round Rockettes." Check out all of the other nearby cities' demonyms on KXAN.
- A master plan for more park land, trail connectivity and more improvements was approved by City Council on March 9. "The $277,834 contract with design firm Design Workshop will include design of the Lawn at Brushy Creek, a parks project situated along Brushy Creek on the north side of Downtown Round Rock." The future Heritage Trail will connect to Sheppard Street/Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way, allowing cyclists into the Downtown area. This project will be paid by the city's self-financed construction fund. City of Round Rock has the full scoop.
