Here are the top three stories today in Round Rock:

  1. Gabriel Hernandez was recently sentenced to 20 years in prison for the murder of 17-year-old Brian Navarro in March 2020 in Round Rock. Hernandez, who was also 17 years old at the time of the murder, pleaded guilty on Jun. 23 and will get credit for the 843 days (2.3 years) already spent in jail. (KXAN)
  2. Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), the power grid operator for Texas, has issued two Conservation Appeals this week, Jul. 11 and Jul. 13. The City of Round Rock announced that there is a plan in place if a large-scale system outage occurs.
