Here are the top three stories today in Round Rock:

1. At around 10: 45 a.m. yesterday, Jun. 13, Round Rock Police officers responded to a disturbance involving a person yelling while defacing vehicles in the neighborhood. The man refused to leave his home in the 2300 block of Rising Sun Cove with police officers, SWAT, and crisis negotiators at the scene. Finally, in the evening hours, the man was "safely" taken into custody following the SWAT callout. An investigation is ongoing. (KXAN)
2. Yesterday, Jun. 13, 52-year-old Cynthia Linette Jones of Round Rock was sentenced to 51 months in prison for embezzling over $775,000 from her employer. Jones was the office manager for a Central Texas business and forged over 70 company checks from 2012 to 2018. Jones pleaded guilty on Nov. 30, 2021, to one count of bank fraud and one count of tax evasion. (Department of Justice)
3. Mexican-inspired restaurant, Besos Cocina & Cantina, is expected to open by end of June 2022. The restaurant is located at 3107 S. I-35 in Round Rock, formerly home to Tortuga Flats. The former restaurant closed in 2018. (Community Impact Newspaper)
