Monthly Cooking Series Teaches Kids Healthy Recipe Ideas

The monthly classes are sponsored by McCormick Spices and were designed to help families with nutrition-based education amid the pandemic.

ROUND ROCK, TX—McCormick Spice invite families to Every Kid Can Cook, a free monthly cooking series for kids to promote healthy recipes, independence, and learning opportunities about nutrition facts, and tips on remaking favorite recipes a little healthier.

Every Kid Can Cook is a non-profit whose goal is to help kids learn about and use nutrition to become successful and healthy leaders. This program was developed out of a response for needing nutrition-themed education and activities to do at home during the COVID-19 pandemic and to better support kids enrolled in the school-based Kid Ambassador Program who have asked about developing more kid-hosted cooking classes. Thanks to McCormick Spice and Healthy Little Cooksother partners, the monthly series is free to any child who wants to participate.

Upcoming classes are scheduled, Thursday, Nov. 19 from 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 17 from 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Classes are designed for kids ages 6-15, however, the program is open to anyone interested in participants. Younger children will need support from an adult or older children, and nutrition chats are designed to teach children ages 7-13.
