- Round Rock resident Antonio Rene Alonzo "pleaded guilty on Dec. 20 to a hit-and-run crash" that occurred in February 2020. His plea deal "lists a maximum fine of $10,000 and a state prison term of more than 20 years and no less than two years." His punishment hearing is set for Feb. 2023. - The March 2022 tornado that struck our city was an EF-2 with winds of 135 mph. Some 680 homes were destroyed or affected, 16 people were injured, and damages totaled $32 million. Homeowners are still having a difficult time with their claims through their insurance companies to this day. Though tragic and a sore memory for Round Rock citizens, this tornado was one of KXAN's top weather stories.
