Here are the top three stories today in Round Rock:

  1. On May 26, the Round Rock City Council approved an economic development agreement with Valex Corporation that will bring 75 new jobs and more than $12 million in capital investment to Round Rock over five years. As part of the agreement, Valex will lease and occupy the facility at 120 E. Old Settlers Boulevard for a minimum of seven years. (City of Round Rock)
  2. The Texas Transportation Commission has approved a $547.6 million contract to build the I-35 Capital Express South project and a $3.5 million contract to extend the pedestrian barrier along I-35. The pedestrian barrier will extend from SH 45 Southeast to Greenlawn Boulevard in Round Rock, a 25-mile stretch along the I-35. (Texas Department of Transportation)
  3. At the May 26 meeting, Round Rock City Council approved construction contracts for the second phase of the Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority deep water intake project. Leander and Cedar Park city councils also approved the selected contractor, a $224.78 million joint venture between Thalle Construction Company and SAK Construction. Round Rock City Council pledged $63.36 million, Cedar Park City Council pledged $65.09 million, and Leander City Council pledged $96.32 million. (Community Impact Newspaper)

  • Sushi Nini, located at 117 Louis Henna Boulevard, Suite 160, will reopen on Jun. 1, 2022! The restaurant closed in June 2021 due to a fire. The sushi and sports bar offers a variety of sushi and sashimi. View the link for more information. (Community Impact Newspaper)
