Newly Opened Fire Station Serves Southwestern Round Rock
The new Station 3 at 221 Sundance Parkway in the La Frontera Shopping Center replaces the previous station built in 1991 on Rawhide Drive.
ROUND ROCK, TX — The City of Round Rock has opened its most recently completed fire station, officials announced.
The new Station 3 at 221 Sundance Parkway in the La Frontera Shopping Center that opened on Thursday replaces the previous station built in 1991 on Rawhide Drive. The new station serves the southwestern Round Rock area, including La Frontera, the Chisholm Valley neighborhood and Dell campus.
The location was decided after an analysis indicated it would provide strategic access to major roadways for better response times, officials explained in an advisory. The new 11,500-square-foot station houses an engine, aerial fire apparatus, Williamson County EMS ambulance crew with additional space accommodating future growth, city officials said.
