P A R K S P A C E Is a Panel Discussion On Reimagining Parks

ROUND ROCK, TX—Austin Foundation for Architecture —promoting awareness of the built environment through its two-part mission to develop the general public’s education, awareness, and appreciation for architecture, and to promote responsible stewardship of the Central Texas environment; and develop sustainable architectural leadership for AIA Austin, the Austin chapter of the American Institute of Architects, and other public, professional, and community organizations in Central Texas —invite the community to the fifth annual Austin Design Week.

Scheduled Monday, Nov. 8 beginning at 8 am through Friday, Nov. 13 at 5 p.m. P A R K S P A C E: Reimagining Our Parks for Physical Distancing and Access for All is panel discussion on the planning and implementation of P A R K S P A C E, a physical distancing intervention for Austin-area parks in response to COVID. Providing brightly colored squares as a safe way for Austinites to enjoy the outdoors, together but apart, the discussion centers on the role of design in green spaces and how their collaboration has offered opportunities to address issues of access, equity and resources in communities. Attendees will have the opportunity to view the panel discussion throughout the entire Austin Design Week, and those interested in participating are encouraged to visit an installation and watch the discussion while at the park.
