Here are the top three stories in Round Rock today:
- The Round Rock Cares fund, managed by the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation, raised $435,000 for those impacted by the March tornado in Round Rock. The tornado and storm damaged 838 properties and caused around $33 million in damages. The Austin American-Statesman reported that the "money has been fully dispersed to 227 families and four businesses." (KVUE)
- Sam Speiller, a mother who moved to Round Rock from California a year ago, has gone viral on Tik Tok for sharing her experiences living in Texas. Speiller shares, "The left lane is for passing, but also the right lane will also be for passing, too, if you go too slow. One can use manners to rip another person to shreds. The sun can heat up a pool just fine, it's like swimming in soup." She says she loves living in Texas overall and plans to continue making viral videos. (FOX 7 Austin)
- The City of Round Rock is currently under Stage I drought restrictions, which only allows outdoor watering two days per week. The city has shared some tips and a video on how to take care of grass in a drought. For example, water the grass before sunrise or at night.
