Here are the top stories in Round Rock today:

  1. Chris Matthew Levlon was arrested in Round Rock for allegedly threatening his soon-to-be-ex-wife with a knife, setting fire to their home in Montgomery, TX, and later fleeing the scene. "U.S. Marshals Service and Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the U.S. Marshals-led Lone Star Fugitive Task Force" placed Levlon into custody "on an outstanding Montgomery County Warrant. He awaits extradition back to Montgomery County to face felony charges of Arson and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon." (Woodlands Online)
  2. A man "with ties to Austin, Round Rock and Kyle, TX" was taken into custody after deputies from the Williamson County Sheriff's Office "seized 63 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Oct. 25." Deputies searched the vehicle and found the marijuana inside luggage after stopping the vehicle for a traffic violation. (KWTX)
  3. This election season means a lot to David Perry of Round Rock, who said, "It’s my obligation as a citizen to come out and vote." What voters like Perry may see, especially during the early voting period, are a higher number of poll watchers. "A poll watcher is a person appointed by a candidate, campaign, political party or action committee to observe things like poll workers, the actions going on inside polling sites and the counting sites on election night. Poll watchers are not allowed to disrupt any election process and cannot talk to voters. They are allowed to take their questions to the presiding officer at the polling place." (KVUE)
  4. Local restaurant Sugar Daddy's closed in Round Rock, and is expected to reopen in November with the name "Legends." The new brand "will be oriented around the history of the murder of Deputy A.W. Grimes by Sam Bass and his gang, which happened inside the building." (Community Impact Newspaper)
