Here are the top stories in Round Rock today:
- Round Rock High School went into a "brief secure mode" where all exterior doors were locked, no active entries were allowed during that time, and students and staff also remained in place. This safety measure was taken due to two students getting into a physical altercation with each other. One of the students involved pulled out a small knife and "nicked the other student." Since then, both students have been removed from campus. (KVUE)
- In a Round Rock subdivision, what looks to be a bobcat is seen exploring a family's backyard before leaving. The resident originally thought it may have been a much more intimidating animal, a mountain lion, before Texas Parks and Wildlife Department officials reviewed the video footage and leaned more towards it being a bobcat. (KXAN)
- Bus routes for Round Rock ISD have been temporarily adjusted on the Williamson County Great Oaks Drive Bridge at Brushy Creek project. Parents were notified via online portal beforehand. These detours will possibly cause morning and afternoon delays. The schools that will be affected are: Sommer Elementary School, Cedar Valley Middle School and Round Rock High School. (Community Impact Newspaper)
- Michelin Star Chef and Top Chef Alum John Tesar will be one of the exciting people to see at the Food & Wine Festival On Nov. 20 at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions. Those who purchase tickets to attend this event will experience "over 40 of Texas’ best wineries, distilleries, and craft breweries." (KXAN.com)
