Round Rock ISD Delays Opening Amid Inclement Weather

Several Central Texas school districts have opted to open later than usual given the potential for sleet and freezing rain Tuesday morning.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Round Rock ISD schools and offices will operate on two-hour delay Tuesday morning as a result of inclement weather conditions, officials said late Monday.

An Arctic cold front that blasted through the region around noon is predicted to result in a plunge of temperatures just below the freezing mark with potential sleet and frozen rain threatening to create hazardous road conditions. As a result, school district officials were prompted to implement a two-hour delay.

This means school district offices and schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday. Buses designated pick-up points also will operate two hours later than on regular school days, officials said. School start times will begin two hours later and be dismissed at regular time.
