- EastGroup Properties will potentially redevelop its property at 350 Texas Ave. with a $10 million investment. "Vice President David Hicks declined to comment beyond its intent to redevelop the land to light industrial ... speculative development totaling approximately 130,000 square feet." Recent permits filed show that EastGroup could potentially begin construction starting April 2023, with completion estimated in January 2024. (Community Impact Newspaper)
- Coming up next month, Round Rock ISD will hold a public hearing of the TAPR/Annual Report from the 2021-2022 school year. "The TAPR compiles a wide range of information on student performance in each Texas school and district." This hearing will be Feb. 16 at 5:30 p.m at the Round Rock High School Lecture Hall. Pop over to Round Rock ISD News to see what other reports and statuses will be covered.
- Round Rock Fire Department, along with assistance from Hutto Fire Rescue and City of Taylor Fire Department, performed a stellar job cleaning up an accident involving a small vehicle and an 18-wheeler carrying 20,000 gallons of gasoline and diesel. This incident occurred on the 11000 block of Chandler Road. The fire department and HazMat 6 team used a technique called "cold taping," which "speeds up the process of fuel removal and minimizes the environmental impact that the fuel would create by leaking into the soil."
