Round Rock Police are offering residents tips on what to do if you’re pulled over for a traffic stop.
In a video called “Traffic Stop Etiquette,” officers say the first thing to do is to pull over quickly and safely and turn on your hazard lights.

They want drivers to turn off their radio and, if it’s dark, turn on the interior light in the car so the officer can see you. Keep your hands visible.
And don’t argue.

The video comes in the wake of several high-profile cases where routine traffic stops have turned violent, such as the case of Sandra Bland, who was pulled over in Waller County, Texas, earlier this year.
