Round Rock Residents Invited To National Drug Take Back Day
The Round Rock PD and the DEA will host a drive-thru event for the community to safely dispose of expired and unwanted prescription drugs.

ROUND ROCK, TX—The Round Rock Police Department, in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), invite residents to dispose safely of expired and unwanted prescription drugs with the (Drive Thru) National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Round Rock residents will have the opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.
The event scheduled Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. is a free, socially distanced service that is anonymous, and no questions asked to participants. The event will accept prescription medicines, over-the-counter medications, diabetic test strips, and pet medications. Materials NOT accepted include needles, syringes, thermometers, IV bags, medical device, and personal care products.
Take-back programs are offered as the safest method for disposing of prescription drugs because they are organized and closely monitored by local, state, and federal government agencies. These agencies ensure the proper disposal of the drugs in accordance with federal law.
