  1. Round Rock High School student Andrew Tucker from Boy Scout Troop 365, Capital Area Council, constructed a new stage for puppet shows for the up and coming new, Round Rock Public Library. He and his family helped build this project to completion, and was sponsored by Friends of the Library. Andrew shares that he was born in Round Rock, and remembers his time at the library where he watched the puppet shows as a child. He was sought out by a staff member of the library to reconstruct a new puppet stage as part of his Eagle Scout Project, for which he accepted. Andrew is proud to have carried on this tradition of community service, especially since the last puppet stage was constructed 20 years ago! (City of Round Rock)
  2. The City of Round Rock is seeking volunteers for this month's neighborhood cleanup. This cleanup will cover bulk trash pickup, brush pickup and fire safety surveys in the neighborhoods of Egger Acres, Mesa Village, and Mesa Ridge. Residents can check out this guideline of trash items that the city will accept — Any items not on the guideline will not be picked up. Neighbors can begin bringing trash items to the curb starting Oct. 15 and no later than 7 a.m. Oct. 22. If you are in any of the three neighborhoods listed, you can email crr@roundrocktexas.gov for a fire survey. If you are needing yard work clean up and are elderly, suffer from an illness, or have any other special circumstance, email neighborhoods@roundrocktexas.gov or call 512-671-2734 for more information. (City of Round Rock)
  3. Former dean of the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas Austin, Dr. Clay Johnston, has opened 2 new Harbor Health clinics open in Round Rock and Central Austin. These clinics prioritize preventative care, allowing longer patient visits, and offering patients access to a high-quality path of care. The Round Rock clinic is located at 505 W. Louis Henna Blvd., Ste. 100. (Community Impact)
  4. The Round Rock ISD school board election will take place on Oct. 25 at Kalahari Resorts, starting at 7:30 p.m. Round Rock ISD will see five seats in the Nov. 8 election. In August, places 3, 4, 5, and 6 was part of the board's regular election cycle. Place 1 was a special election after the departure of Jun Xiao, a former Trustee.
