Here are the top three stories today in Round Rock:

  1. Non-profits, including Round Rock Service Center in Round Rock, are providing fans and helping people find air-conditioned places to cool off this summer because there are no cooling centers in Williamson County. On Jul. 20, Round Rock Service Center Executive Director Lori Scott said, "We had 100 fans delivered today and will order 100 more." The Round Rock Fire Department has a community risk reduction program, which includes a crisis team that brings fans and water to people in need. (Austin American Statesman)
  2. According to the ADP Research Institute, from 2019 to 2021 the Austin-Round Rock metro area's median salary wage grew by 9.40 percent. Due to this increase, the study named Austin-Round Rock the number one metro area in Texas for salary growth rates. (KVUE)
  3. Yesterday, Jul. 24, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. released the names on the preseason watch list for the 2022 Biletnikoff Award. UCF standout Ryan O’Keefe from Round Rock was on the watch list. Every year, the Biletnikoff Award recognizes the college football season's outstanding FBS receiver. (Space Coast Daily)
