  1. Round Rock ISD student Aditya Velamuri not only tutors his peers in calculus, he took it upon himself to write and publish a book that he says is "more concise" and to the point than other resources currently available to students. Velamuri taught himself calculus when he lived in India and believes it is a subject that can help people do great things if they aren't afraid of learning it. The published book is available on Amazon and if you'd like to read more about Velamuri's background and interests, KVUE has the story here.
  2. Round Rock Public Library Teen Advisory Board member Parul has been selected to be an EngineerGirl ambassador. She is one of 24 teen girl ambassadors from across the nation to be chosen to design and implement a project in their city. Parul is looking forward to offering her program at the Round Rock Public Library next year. It will shine some light on engineering careers and will give participants a taste of engineering design. (City of Round Rock)
  3. Austin resident 27-year-old Marlon Zelaya Orellana, died at the scene after being struck by a drunk driver just after 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 30. The driver arrested has been identified as 19-year-old Michael Lineberry of Michigan. Lineberry was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Round Rock Police Department notes that this investigation is still ongoing. (KEYE)
  4. Community Impact interviewed the candidates running for Williamson County Judge, giving some insight on their current intentions and goals for the future if chosen to serve citizens of Williamson County. The three candidates are: Judge Bill Gravell (served last four years as WilCo judge), Blane Conklin (holds a PhD, senior business analyst, investor and former commissioner), and Wes Benedict (executive director of Libertarian Party, MBA University of Michigan, local business owner).
