  1. Due to massive teacher shortages, Round Rock ISD shared its recent alternative certification program. The program, which allows teaching assistants to become certified to teach at no cost to themselves, began within the last school year. Round Rock ISD pays for the certification and the applicant agrees to work for RRISD for a set amount of time. (KXAN)
  2. The Texas Rangers called Round Rock Express players Cole Ragans and Bubba Thompson to the major leagues. They both made their MLB debut on Aug. 4, when the Rangers won 3 to 2 against the White Sox. (KXAN)
  3. Round Rock ISD student enrollment has been declining since 2019, causing financial issues. RRISD Superintendent Hafedh Azaiez said, "Although the cost of living and inflation are going up, if we lost enrollment, then we have to function with less money." (Community Impact)
