Here are the top three stories in Round Rock today:

  1. On Sunday, Aug. 7, a Round Rock police officer arrested a woman on suspicion of DWI. The officer left the woman's dog in her parked car and the dog passed away. According to the Round Rock Police Department, the car was turned on and the engine was running, but the engine turned off on its own. Benjamin, the woman's brother, said his sister is devastated about losing her husky, Landa. He also said, "She understands that this situation — she put herself in a very bad place. But at the same time, she shouldn't have to worry about the life and welfare of her dog when she's been detained." (ABC4)
  2. A funeral service was held for 14-year-old Victor Soto, the Round Rock teen who was hit by a stolen vehicle on Jul. 31 while walking in the crosswalk at the intersection of Louis Henna Boulevard and La Frontera Boulevard. The driver of the stolen vehicle, 24-year-old Leandro Brito-Martinez, has been charged with murder. (Fox 7 Austin)
