🌱 RRPD Seeks Missing Person + RRISD Approves Raises + Burglary Rate

Here are the top three stories in Round Rock today:

  1. The Round Rock Police Department (RRPD) confirmed yesterday that they located 31-year-old Timothy Perez on Mar. 5, 2022, and the APD case was closed. RRPD now has a missing person investigation for Perez, who has not been seen since the Mar. 5 encounter. Perez was last seen in Round Rock near the intersection of I-35 and W. Parmer Lane. RRPD asks the public to call 9-1-1 immediately if they see Perez, or have information regarding his whereabouts. (AustinTexas Gov)
  2. The Round Rock ISD school board approved pay increases for teachers, librarians and other staff members at its meeting on Thursday. Under the approved 2022-23 compensation plan, teachers and librarians will receive a four percent raise. Administrative support and operations support staff will receive a three percent raise. And instructional support, technology, instructional exempt, business exempt, and police staff will receive a two percent raise. (KVUE)
  3. While burglary rates have been declining in most of the country, in the Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown metro area the total number of burglaries increased by 10.5 percent from 2019 to 2020. According to the FBI's 2019 and 2020 Uniform Crime Reports, the area's population-adjusted burglary rate is one of the largest of any U.S. metro area. (The Center Square)
