Here are the top three stories in Round Rock today:

  1. After the tornado on Mar. 21, the chief meteorologist for KOKE FM and senior lecturer at The University of Texas, Troy Kimmel, suggests ways to prepare for another tornado. Kimmel stressed that having a plan is the most important part of tornado safety. The plan should include batteries, nonperishable foods, flashlights, a meet-up spot, and a bicycle helmet to protect your head. Also, the safest place is inside the lowest level of the building or home. (Community Impact Newspaper)
  2. The Round Rock Parks and Rec Department launched a new podcast called "PARDcast" that tells residents about upcoming special events, adult and youth sports, parks and trails, aquatics, fitness and wellness, facilities, and recreation programs. Rog and Todd host the monthly podcast and there will be guest speakers as well. (City of Round Rock)
  3. The Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD) is hosting a job fair on Saturday, Apr. 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Round Rock High School. RRISD is looking to fill auxiliary positions for the 2022 to 2023 school year. Electricians, custodians, warehouse assistants, bus drivers, and food service workers are needed. (FOX 7 Austin)
