- According to unofficial results from the Williamson County and Travis County Elections offices, Place 2 Councilmember Rene Flores and Place 6 Councilmember Hilda Montgomery were re-elected to City Council in the May 7 election. The results will become official after being canvassed by the City Council. Montgomery ran unopposed while Flores defeated Caitlin Leggett with 60.88 percent of the vote. (City of Round Rock)
- The man at the center of a shelter-in-place notice in Round Rock on Saturday afternoon has been identified by the Round Rock Police Department. Police identified the man as 31-year-old Henry Tolentino, a Round Rock resident, who lived on Bent Tree Loop, near the shooting location. In a press conference, RRPD Chief Allen Banks said Tolentino was wearing body armor and fired at officers “numerous times" near a wooded area at Old Settlers Boulevard and Bent Tree Drive. Police said the man was later found dead in the wooded area, though it is unclear if officers shot the man or if the man took his own life. (KXAN.com)
