WilCo Allows Gatherings Of 10-Plus Amid Coronavirus In Some Areas

The measure complies with an amended gubernatorial executive order that allows such gatherings in the county's unincorporated areas.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — The Williamson County judge on Wednesday signed an order allowing residents to have outdoor gatherings with more than ten people in unincorporated areas.

The order is in compliance with the governor's amended executive order, Judge Bill Gravell said. A copy of the order can be found here. The county order also requires residents to wear protective face coverings over the nose and mouth in public spaces.

“I trust that the residents of Williamson County understand the seriousness of COVID-19 and know the precautions that are necessary to protect their health," Gravell said in a prepared statement. "If we continue to use mitigation measures, such as wearing face coverings and washing our hands often, we can safely be able to participate in life events. These gatherings will not be as they once were, but we need to celebrate weddings, and unfortunately, we need to be able to bury family members with the support of our family around us.”
