Williamson County Ends Burn Ban
The county judge lifted the burn ban implemented Aug. 25 well before its 90-day expiration as the region entered a second day of rainfall.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — The county judge on Friday signed an order terminating an outdoor burn ban well before its 90-say expiration period.
The order comes amid two straight days of heavy rainfall across the region. The ban was lifted at noon Friday.
The burn ban was issued Aug. 25 in response to scorching hot weather marked by several days of triple-digit heat yielding potential safety hazards in unincorporated areas in Williamson County. The Williamson County Fire Marshal and Office of Emergency Management recommended for the County Judge to lift the burn ban as a result of improved conditions.
