- An unidentified woman was shot and killed by a DPS trooper near Cracker Barrel, after she led him on a short chase from Westinghouse to Old Settlers. The woman crashed into another vehicle and attempted to flee the scene with an alleged firearm in hand, according to DPS trooper Deon Cockrell. This incident is under investigation. - Williamson County is in search of more polling locations following the Nov. 8 election. An issue that sparked this concern is that there were over 1,000 last-minute voters at closing time at the Brushy Creek Community Center. About 15-20% of polling locations are at public schools and those might be counted out, as there are safety concerns following the Uvalde school shooting earlier this year. Read more about other concerns on election days at Austin American-Statesman.
- Many pets are in need of a home throughout the year, and especially during the holiday season, when people look for new furry friends, sometimes those at the shelters are overlooked. There are some seriously adorable rabbits, cats and dogs that are worth a look on our pet-round-up, with information on each critter and where you can pick them up!
