• WATCH: Goodfellow AFB Adds F-16 Trainer to Firefighter Program, Showcases Capabilities (sanangelolive.com) — Firefighters at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo now have a real F-16 jet to practice pilot rescues and emergency procedures, after a ribbon-cutting at the Louis F. Garland Fire Academy. Instructors say the intact aircraft will boost realism for multi-branch firefighter and officer training, preparing younger airmen for deployments without relying solely on simulations.
   

• AARP Texas Recognizes Nine State Lawmakers as 2025 Legislative Champions (aarp.org) — San Angelo’s own Rep. Drew Darby has been named a 2025 Legislative Champion by AARP Texas for his work expanding nurse practitioner authority and protecting consumers in the residential solar market. The recognition highlights how his efforts, alongside eight other lawmakers, aim to fight fraud, improve healthcare access, and reduce costs for older Texans statewide.
   

• Angelo State Hoops goes 2-0 on the day vs Texas A&M International (conchovalleyhomepage.com) — Angelo State basketball fans in San Angelo saw a perfect home sweep, with the Rambelles snapping a five-game skid and the Rams pulling off a dramatic 78–77 comeback over Texas A&M International at the Junell Center. The women improved to 2–6 while the men moved to 9–3, both heading toward a holiday break after this week’s remaining games.
