(expressnews.com) — San Antonio police are asking residents to help identify a man whose remains were found Dec. 9 in an abandoned water well off Quintana Road on the Southwest Side. Investigators shared images of clothing linked to the case and say the Bexar County Medical Examiner has basic details but no positive ID yet, hoping someone recognizes the items.
   

2. San Antonio hospitals see surge in emergency visits as super flu strain hits early (news4sanantonio.com) — San Antonio health officials and local doctors are warning that an unusually early and aggressive H3N2 “super flu” is already driving up emergency room visits across the city. One Stone Oak clinic is even staying open on Christmas Eve as physicians urge residents to get vaccinated, watch for symptoms like muscle aches and fever, and stay home from gatherings if sick.

San Antonio's Megan Fitch celebrates national title as freshman with Texas A&M volleyball (ksat.com) — A San Antonio native just brought home a national championship as Cornerstone Christian Academy alum Megan Fitch helped Texas A&M win its first NCAA Division I women’s volleyball title. The freshman outside hitter, who starred locally with more than 1,000 high school kills, returned to Texas and visited KSAT 12 to reflect on her rare first-year achievement.
   

4. KSAT Q&A: Mayor Jones discusses her letter to Abbott on funding for children's summer lunch programs (ksat.com) — San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones is pressing Gov. Greg Abbott to restore $60 million in Summer EBT funding that would help low-income local families feed their kids when school is out. With nearly one in five San Antonio children living in poverty, she says the state has the money but needs the will, and is weighing backup plans if her request is denied.
