• Drones take flight to protect holiday shoppers in north Houston (khou.com) — If you’re shopping in north Houston near Spring this week, deputies are using drones and extra patrols to watch parking lots and deter car break-ins. Harris County Precinct 4 is flying a wide-angle camera drone over busy centers, while deputies check for unlocked cars and leave safety reminders to help protect your belongings during last-minute holiday trips.
   

• Dorothy Booth Henley (kogt.com) — A longtime educator and community volunteer, 91-year-old Dorothy Booth Henley is remembered by family including her daughter Leah Lester of Spring. Henley spent her career counseling students in Arkansas and Texas and later welcomed visitors at Beaumont’s Spindletop Gladys City Boomtown Museum and Ben Rogers Visitor Center. A memorial service and interment will be held in Norphlet, Arkansas.
