Houston Museum of Natural Science Hosts 'Sweet – A Tasty Journey' Exhibit

The 'Sweet-A Tasty Journey' exhibit will feature opportunities to learn about candy ingredients and the process of making candy.

SUGAR LAND, TX —The Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land and Visit Sugar Land Convention and Visitor Services are planning an exhibit ribbon cutting and rally for National Travel and Tourism Week on May 12, at 10 a.m., at the Museum, 13016 University Blvd.

Beginning May 12 through August 8 the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land will open doors to a new exhibit titled “Sweet – A Tasty Journey” that will feature a world of flavorful fun in an interactive setting all summer long. It’s an opportunity to learn about candy ingredients from a farm to fork perspective and the intricate process of candy and chocolate making.

“In what seems to be a destined alignment, this unique exhibit perfectly ties into the city’s rich history and will give the visitors a first-hand experience of how ‘sweet’ Sugar Land truly is,” said Tourism and Destination Services Administrator Teresa Preza. In addition, convention and visitor bureaus across the nation join the U.S. Travel Association each year in May to celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week to demonstrate the positive impact travel can have on a local economy. “Sales tax activity, often driven by tourists visiting our community, has been a key for reducing the property tax burden on homeowners in Sugar Land and maintaining of the state’s lowest property tax rates,” said Preza.
