• Sugar Land receives state certification recognizing commitment to growing tourism (houstondaily.com) — Sugar Land has just earned a coveted Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community designation, strengthening efforts to attract visitors and support local jobs and businesses. • Rays to receive OF Melton, RHP Brito in 3-way trade; Lowe to Pirates (source) (mlb.com) — Sugar Land baseball fans will recognize Jacob Melton, who split 2025 between the Astros and Triple-A Sugar Land before being included in a three-team trade that sends him to the Tampa Bay Rays. The deal also moves longtime Rays slugger Brandon Lowe to the Pittsburgh Pirates and brings pitcher Mike Burrows to Houston, pending physicals.
