• Local nonprofits receive grants from 2025 Sugar Plum Market (katytimes.com) — Sugar Land–area residents are seeing real benefits from the 2025 Sugar Plum Market, which raised $317,000 with Memorial Hermann Sugar Land as title sponsor. Grants went to 31 local nonprofits, including the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land and many Fort Bend charities, with additional funds reserved for smaller needs throughout the year. 
• Houston-area plastic surgeon has medical license suspended for allegedly practicing while intoxicated (houstonpublicmedia.org) — A Sugar Land plastic surgeon has been temporarily barred from practicing medicine after the Texas Medical Board suspended his license following allegations he performed surgeries while impaired by alcohol. The board cites multiple 2025 incidents at his Houston-area clinic and a related Fort Bend County indictment, with a disciplinary hearing still to come.
• Fantasy baseball news or noise: Fry to be more than DH for Cleveland (espn.com) — Sugar Land gets a brief spotlight here as the home of the Astros’ Triple-A club, where prospect Brice Matthews hit 17 homers and stole 41 bases last season.
