• Lyda Morton: Aug. 17, 1923-Dec. 10, 2025 – The Kerr County Lead (kerrcountylead.com) — Longtime Hill Country resident Lyda Morton was born and raised on a farm in Utopia and went on to a full life spanning 102 years. She worked during World War II, later served families at a Bandera funeral home, and spent her final years near family. A memorial service is set for Monday, December 22, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville.
