  1. The Victoria City Council is looking for four residents in the Victoria area to help out with the Parks and Recreation Commission. Meetings with the committee will start at 5:00 p.m. on the second Monday of every month. Meetings are located at the council chambers at 107 W.   2. Hurricane season has officially started as of Thursday, Jun. 1, and the National Weather Service and the National Hurricane Center are giving updates on what to expect. Through the end of the hurricane season on Nov. 30, the storms should remain fairly average and neutral. Meteorologist Juan Peรฑa expects the season to bring 12-17 named storms that will be Category 3 or higher. (Victoria Advocate)
  3. It's almost time for Park Pals Outdoor Survival Summer Camp! Hosted by Victoria Parks and Recreation, this camp will run Jun. 5-9 at Riverside Park from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Each day will include different activities for campers, such as knot tying, setting up a campsite, and hiking from the Children's Park to the Texas Zoo.
