Ascension Providence earns top mark "A"-gain from The Leapfrog Group
National distinction recognizes Ascension Providence's achievements
Waco, Texas - Ascension Providence received an βAβ Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for Spring 2022. This national distinction recognizes Ascension Providenceβs achievements in protecting patients from harm and error in the hospital. Ascension Providence also received an βAβ rating in Fall 2021.

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an βA,β βB,β βC,β βD,β or βFβ grade to general hospitals across the country based on over thirty national performance measures reflecting errors, injuries, accidents and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

At HospitalSafetyGrade.org, the public can find detailed information about a hospitalβs performance on patient experience and other safety measures used to grade hospitals. Across all states, highlights of findings from the spring 2022 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade include:
- Thirty‐three percent of hospitals received an "A," 24% received a "B," 36% received a "C," 7% received a "D," and less than 1% received an "F.β
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harms to patients. The grading system is fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated biannually in the fall and in the spring.
