Ascension Providence names Kevin Stevenson Chief Operating Officer
As COO, Kevin is responsible for overall operational efficiencies, and more
Ascension Providence is pleased to announce that Kevin Stevenson, DHA, MBA, FACHE, has accepted the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). As COO, Kevin is responsible for overall operational efficiencies, financial stewardship and growth initiatives as well as continued oversight of Surgical Services, service lines and ancillary departments.
Most recently, Kevin served as the Director of Strategic Operations at Ascension Providence, and has held a number of executive roles in hospitals and health systems in Texas, Kentucky, Nebraska and Louisiana, with additional leadership roles in physician networks, accountable care organizations and generic pharmaceutical strategy.
“Throughout his tenure at Ascension Providence, Kevin has demonstrated his ability to communicate effectively, develop strong teams and continue to build upon the culture that Providence has maintained throughout its rich history,” said Philip Patterson, president of Ascension Providence. “We are thrilled to celebrate his successes and new role.”
Kevin is a native of Dallas and earned both his Bachelor and Master of Business Administration from Baylor University and his Doctorate of Healthcare Administration from the Virginia University of Lynchburg. Kevin also serves on the boards of the Central Texas Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Waco Rotary Club, Leadership Waco Alumni Association, Community Healthcare of Texas, Heart of Texas Regional Advisory Council, and Sigma Phi Epsilon (Baylor University chapter) Alumni and Volunteer Corporation. He also serves on the City of Waco Zoning Board of Adjustment, the Governance Committee of Texas EMS, Trauma and Acute Care Foundation and the Texas Hospital Association Committee of Excellence in Community Service.
Kevin and his wife Michelle have two daughters, Ashley and Brooke, and one son-in-law, Jake, who is married to Ashley. Kevin and Michelle love to travel, are avid Baylor sports fans and are active in their local church, where he sings in the choir and chairs the Building and Grounds Committee.
