Ascension Providence plants trees to honor healthcare workers
Tree planting and prayer service held in multiple Central Texas locations to honor healthcare workers and those lost during the pandemic
Ascension Providence held a Living Tribute tree planting and prayer service to honor healthcare workers and those lost during the pandemic. Attended by hospital administrators and staff, the service included a chaplain-led prayer and the unveiling of a new plaque next to the tree, serving as both a memorial and a living representation of the lives touched by COVID-19. Trees will also be planted at Ascension Texas hospitals across Central Texas to mark the occasion, as well as plaques and gardens dedicated at hospital sites.
βPlanting trees in the communities we are privileged to serve is both a living remembrance of those who were lost and a symbol of hope and renewal for the healthcare workers who continue to serve on the front lines of this pandemic,β said Philip Patterson, President of Ascension Providence. βWe also believe planting trees throughout the entire Ascension system has an enormous potential to positively impact both our community spaces and global environment.β
