• Third suspect charged after shooting, pursuit involving Amazon warehouse employees in Waco: records (kwtx.com) — Waco police have arrested a third suspect after a September shooting and chase that began with a dispute involving Amazon warehouse employees and ended in a crash near 12th Street and Gurley Lane. Three men are accused of firing at another vehicle in multiple locations, with new state law elevating the aggravated assault charges to first-degree felonies because shots were fired from one car into another. 
• Former DPS trooper appointed to fill unexpired term of retiring justice of the peace in McLennan County (kwtx.com) — McLennan County commissioners have appointed retired DPS trooper and former Waco police officer Gary “Bull” Durham to fill retiring Justice of the Peace Pete Peterson’s Precinct 1, Place 2 seat starting Jan. 1, 2026. Durham will serve through 2026 while also running in the March Republican primary against Waco attorneys Will Hutson and Aubrey “Robbie” Robertson, shaping who oversees key local court matters.
• Baylor-led CenTex Cyber Hub launches groundbreaking program (fox44news.com) — A new Baylor-led Central Texas Cyber Hub program in Waco will train local high schoolers for cybersecurity careers through a no-cost, TEA-aligned course pathway starting in 2026. Eight nearby districts are in the first cohort, with McLennan Community College in Waco and other partners helping students earn industry certifications like CompTIA Security+ and Network+.
