• Colleagues and friends reflect on the legacy of Former Tenth Court of Appeals Justice Felipe Reyna (kwtx.com) — Waco residents are mourning former Tenth Court of Appeals Justice Felipe Reyna, a trailblazing Hispanic jurist who began his career as a McLennan County prosecutor and later served as district attorney. Friends and colleagues recall his larger-than-life personality, deep care for others, and barrier-breaking service on the Waco-based appeals court, and note that his life story is captured in his memoir, From Janitor to Justice.
   

• Central Texas woman's Black Santa collection celebrates representation and Christmas (kwtx.com) — In Waco, Dr. Bess Carpenter Dunner has filled her home with roughly 2,000 Black Santa figurines and nearly 19 themed Christmas trees, celebrating representation in holiday traditions. After beating breast cancer this year, she’s especially grateful to share the joyful display with her children and grandchildren gathered under one very festive roof.
