This week, Ascension Providence associates gathered for the grand opening of a new garden at the hospital.

Ascension Providence received a generous donation from community partners to transform an unused outdoor space into a beautiful serenity garden for associates. Healthcare workers often experience intensely stressful and emotional situations on the job, and the COVID-19 pandemic introduced additional elements of strain for healthcare workers. This $250,000 donation provides a space that allows associates to take some time to relax throughout the day, even just for a few minutes.

The serenity garden features a calming space with a variety of plants, water fountain, games and plenty of seating, including swings and rocking chairs.
