1. Longtime missionary arrested on solicitation of prostitution charge (christianchronicle.org) — Wichita Falls police recently arrested local missionary Dennis Cady on a charge of soliciting prostitution, following reports tied to the Faith Mission homeless shelter and a related real estate business. Affidavits say adults were allegedly offered money for sexual acts after day-labor jobs, though no acts are alleged to have occurred. Cady has publicly expressed remorse and was released on bond while awaiting a court date.

2. New MSU and Sheppard Air Force Base banners being installed around town (texomashomepage.com) — Drivers around Wichita Falls will soon notice nearly 200 new banners highlighting Midwestern State University and Sheppard Air Force Base across downtown, near campus, and around the base. Forward Wichita Falls and the Chamber partnered with local sponsors to fund the campaign, aiming to boost pride and visibility for the two major institutions that anchor the city’s economy and identity.

3. Wichita Falls ISD names Devon Dorris new Athletic Director (newschannel6now.com) — Wichita Falls ISD has hired longtime Azle coach Devon Dorris as its new athletic director, making him the seventh AD in district history. Dorris brings 23 seasons of experience, including 16 years as Azle’s head football coach, and will now oversee athletics across WFISD campuses following Grant Freeman’s tenure from 2023 to 2025.

4. Gas prices have fallen according to recent survey (newschannel6now.com) — Gas prices across Texas, including Wichita Falls, have dipped slightly, with averages down less than a penny over the past week and nearly 20 cents from a month ago. Analysts say national gasoline and diesel prices are at multi‑year lows heading into Christmas, and continued refinery output and oil production could keep fuel costs easing into late 2025.

5. Lawsuit from Texas, Florida AGs takes another crack at limiting abortion pill access (ohiocapitaljournal.com) — A new lawsuit by the Texas and Florida attorneys general targeting abortion pill access has been filed in the federal court’s Wichita Falls division, putting the city back in the national spotlight over reproductive rights.
